South Africa/Boer Republics - Probably will appear as a modded Dutch or English empire in the Scramble for Africa. Probably just as likely as Brazil, but independent for a shorter span of history. Switzerland - Certainly not NOT a possibility, but how to play them besides turtling? They would have to be the best turtlers of all time.Īustralia - A tough decision to not include. Mali - Sure, there's an argument for cultural distinctiveness apart from Songhai, but I don't think that difference is going to sell expacs Manchus - Someone with a greater knowledge of Asian history is probably going to school me, but I thought the Manchus were an offshoot of Mongolian invaders. I'm annoyed when I run into Washington in the ancient era, and this would just double that. Once Portugal is in, I think this would be a no-brainer.Ĭonfederate States of America - Likely just a civilization in the Civil War scenario. ![]() Another choice influenced by a gap in my world map. Vietnam - Dai Viet or Dynastic Vietnam, likely tall cultural-based empire, maybe a unique ability involving rivers?īrazil - A new civilization (though declared independence only 46 years after the US). A sea-faring nation and the largest empire ever to form in Southeast Asia Majapahit/Sri Vijaya (Indonesia) - Another empty corner on my world map. Then again, Navajo/Pueblo is an intriguing choice as well, with a probable unique building Plus, that corner of the United States is always blank on my world map. Sioux/Lakota/Plains Nations - More so than the "Five Civilized Tribes," the Plains Nations remained culturally distinct from colonists and fought widely-known wars against the United States in the 19th century. Kongo - Scrambled in Africa, less confident about them than Zulu because this would be their first appearance, but would be a clear choice if Portugal is included (highly likely) ![]() Assyria - It's either them or Daleks (EXTERMINAAAATE!)
